Buying new computer
Can anyone recommend a new laptop computer running trisquel "almost" out of the box? I know some configuring and fiddling, anyone?

I am running it on an HP 2013 (Of course it's for latin america). I
have wireless (atheros 2985) and bluetooth support. I can't run 3d
effects, for it's an ATI card, but trisquel runs fine. I have no sound
on the laptop speakers, but yes if I plug anything in the line out.
Good luck!!! main issue for me would be 3d support, getting sound to
work would be nice to. I must make clear I have not done any fiddling
whatsoever, for I have really little time now :)
Best wishes!

Thinkpad... Though just double check on the Intel graphics card, but other than that Thinkpads are always very very well supported and are built very well. You won't regret buying one.
You can also try system76, they make PCs preloaded with ubuntu, but I believe Trisquel should work fine if you check that you're getting the right graphics card (be careful with their high end laptops and desktops) and the drivers for things like lights are libre and are available from their website. They have a support forum on Ubuntu forums, so you can ask about hardware there.
Remember the video card should be Intel. Most support 3D.

Try this nice listing: http://linuxpreloaded.com/
Purchase one in your desired price range, make sure the hardware is compatible with fully free drivers (mainly that means the right Wi-fi card if it's a laptop, and an Intel GPU), then replace the installed OS with Trisquel. :)
You might also try http://www.eightvirtues.com/ -- of course, I have a soft spot for this company because they named it after Ultima IV (one of my favorite games when I was a kid), but also because they seem to specialize in Ubuntu -- I haven't tested them, but I would be willing to bet they would put Trisquel on one of their computers for you :) (under "Select your OS" there is an option for "Other - please specify in notes")
