I am loving Trisquel! It is super slick. What I am wondering if it I could fully install it on a USB stick. I have been using a live boot USB but it breaks when I install new software into it. Any ideas?

What do you mean?
Did you install it on your PC/Laptop? Is it the only iOS running?
Which version do you have of Trisquel?
How does it 'break' when you install new software? How do you install new software?

When it came out this year in April I installed Debian Jessie on a USB stick. That was very simple. You need just to follow the instructions on screen, select the USB stick as hard-drive. The only thing you need to pay attention to is where to install GRUB. If I remember correctly I installed it firs on the USB stick itself but then could not manage to boot it. Then I reinstalled Debian again and the second time I selected the laptop's hardrive so that GRUB was updated with the entry for Debian.

You need to make a usb stick with "persistence", i,e, a {partition labeled, file named} casper-rw. Then it will remember your changes.

The graphical tools might work or then you could do it manually.

Be aware a USB stick will quickly die if you write a lot to it (logs for instance).

If that test is reliable I wouldn't say it will die **quickly**

Hi Heather!
When I installed Debian on the USB stick with GRUB on it I'm pretty sure I tried to boot the stick first in BIOS but for some reason that didn't work. It's normal old BIOS and the option to boot a live distro works but somehow booting that DebianOnStick I did not manage to do.
