Hello everyone,

First and foremost, I want to state how much I appreciate this forum as a Trisquel user. I have had nothing by wonderful experiences in utilizing this operating system and am immensely thankful for your time.

I have had a noticed few programs that are very far out of date within the Trisquel repository. This is of no worries in most users cases and is immensely common in all repository-based software distribution methods.

However, I was curious if it was possible for users to report when packages have become far out of date (especially in regards to edition lacking bug fixes).

Thank you so much and as always I immensely appreciate all of your time and energy.

Trisquel 11 has backports: https://packages.trisquel.org/aramo-backports/

That said, I guess packaging newer versions takes time and most of us had rather have Trisquel 12 (with newer versions of everything) released sooner.

Notice that there may be another way to easily install the newest version of a given application: Flatpak, AppImage, PPAs, etc.
