I know if this problem is because of restricted codecs but when I try to convert a .ogv video to .flv with winff I get the following error.

"swScaler: Unknown format is not supported as input pixel format
Cannot get resampling context"

When I try to upload a .ogv video to youtube the video does not come out, only the sound does. Is there any format I can convert it to in trisquel to upload it to youtube??

I forgot to mention I'm using Trisquel 4.0 beta

Try using Transmageddon, in my opinion it's better than WinFF

It seems Transmageddon uses mostly restricted formats not available from trisquel. I can only use it to convert ogv to wmv, should I test if wmv but when I click Transcode I'm not sure if it is converting or not, It does not show any prograss and doesnot show a temp file anywhere.

You can find here the list of formats accepted in youtube (WMV is among them):

PS.- Youtube seems to recommend "ffmpeg" to transcode, which is available in the repository (http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=55744)

Thanks.....I see that wmv or asf does upload properly, but transmageddon converts it with pretty bad quality. Why doesn't ffmpeg or winff work with wmv??

When I chooce wmv from winff i get "Cannot get resampling context"
