Changing the default image viewer

In Trisquel 5, I was able to replace the gThumb program with Eye of GNOME (eog), but this doesn't seem to be possible in 5.5. Even if I remove the trisquel-recommended package to be able to remove gThumb, I still can't seem to make eog the true default image viewer. This hasn't been a big issue for me, but now that I finally upgraded the family desktop to 5.5, I want to be able to fix this on that computer.

Thanks to you can help

Right-click on an image and choose "Properties". In the "Open with" tab, I believe you can choose eog as the default application to handle all images of this type (i.e., you have to do the same of the other image types).

I think there's a setting for defaul applications in System Settings in the System Info section.

I had done that, but in 5.5, it just doesn't work right
