Cinelerra is the single most powerful video editor for GNU/Linux, but it isn't in our repos. It's free software under the GNU GPL. Does it require a non-free library or something?

Is it in the Ubuntu repositories? We get our packages from Ubuntu, so if they don't have it, we don't either, unless it's something custom like abrowser, or the Trisquel window themes.

It is not in Ubuntu's repositories: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/amd64/Cinelerra

Tried following the instructions on the website (cinelerra.org) for adding the launchpad ppa, but hit a snag with the quicktime lib dependency. I'm sure you could install it, as (interestingly enough) it seems to be available for many of the other Free distros (Venenux, dyne:bolic, Musix), but it would be a matter of monitoring the licenses of the packages being downloaded from these third-party sources to make sure you weren't getting any non-free-licensed software. I'll have to give it another try later.

I'm going to ask Ruben to add it to our repos.
