Does anyone know if it is possible to buy new Power8 or 9 aka ppc64 hardware somewhere?
Does Power Architecture have things like (backdoor) Intel Management Tec. or AMD PSP?
Is it even possible to replace the BIOS? I know its not x86 but it could run Linux/Trisquel especially on ppc64le.

Here is says: "They are sharing the blueprints to their hardware and software to their partners..."
Which sound very nice and promising! Open hardware finally!?

If you don't know what ppc64 is: It is basically a modern server(and embedded = DIY PC?) version of the old PowerPC architecture(RISK).

The architecture specifications can be found here http://fileadmin.cs.lth.se/cs/education/EDAN25/PowerISA_V2.07_PUBLIC.pdf
But I don't understand those. Far to complicated for me.
This is version 2.07, there is version 3.00 but you need to register on IBMs website.
Anyone knowledgeable enough to understand this?

Yes, it can.

I love computers with PowerPC. But PowerPC is more expensive.
