Could some one suggest me a development environment to develop in php? So far I being using gedit, pluma and now kate in kde plasma triskel.

I'm a little surprise with kate's terminal and project viewer, but I'm hopping to find something a little better.

Is eclipse a good option? what other free software options do you know?

When I search free software DEs for php, the only one I find is atom, witch I couldn't find in the repos, and apparently, it is related to github, witch as far as I know, it's own by MS. Is atom truly free software and can be trusted?

Thank you.

I just found NetBeans in the repos. I might give it a try. Please let me know if you have other options. Thank you.

I don't know if it is really useful but I think you can do php with "kdevelop". There is also "bluefish". And there are also console based editors. "vim", "emacs", "nano".

I have also found a list on wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PHP_editors

Thank you so much damidu. I see that atom is also listed there, but then again Visual Studio Code is there too. I'm not sure MS can be trusted here.

In any case, thanks a lot damidu, you've been a very good pal. Thank you.
