All the extensions at extensions.gnome.org are greyed out for me. I tried both abrowser and firefox. At first it gives me a red error message, then asks for me to allow gnome integration. When I do that everything is greyed out. Any ideas?

All the GNOME extensions are designed for GNOME Shell. They are redundant on
GNOME Classic/Flashback. Try using GNOME Shell.

sudo apt-get install gnome-shell gnome-classic

And optionally, for a slightly better experience:

sudo apt-get install gdm

Then when you log in, select "GNOME" as your session instead of "Trisquel". That will get you into GNOME Shell.

Thanks guys. Will it break full disk encryption in any way? The key entry screen I mean.

Also I already installed gnome-shell-extensions and xorg. Selected gdm over Lightdm when xorg prompted me. Do I need to do anything specific w/ those?
