Donating to Trisquel via Liberapay or Open Collective
Hi all,
just realized the main way of donating to Trisquel is via PayPal...
Can one donate to Trisquel via Liberapay or Open Collective as well? If not, what's the problem with those plattforms?
You can also use Bitcoin, but I'd also like to know why LiberaPay isn't an option.
Maybe it's because Liberapay requires non-free software to process donations.

I agree this is an issue. For now, it's is a reason not to make Liberapay the *only* way to donate to Trisquel. But it doesn't seem like a good reason to refuse to accept donations through Liberapay at all.
From the comments in that GH issue, it seems to be a result of their rapid, unplanned transition to Stripe, after Mangopay suddenly refused to keep working with them 2 years ago:

Perhaps someone in our community can help them figure out how to replace all nonfree JS from their service? I'm sure they're keen to that if possible.
One way to help website operators avoid this situation could be a page on FSF.org or GNU.org evaluating payment processing options for websites, and which ones can be used without compromising the software freedom of site users. Something along the lines of this page for webmail providers:

Thanks to your link I found Mailo.
Would LiberaPay not be a better option then paypal?
It uses Stripe, which utilizes non-free code for PCI compliance. Paypal has at least shown a willingness to work with the FSF regarding licensing.
Is there any other option to donate ?
