early pinephone on sale
I got one in pre-order Friday.In the meantime I am testing plasma mobile on qemu.

Is there any documentation about how build and install OS images on the
Pinephone? While I don't require a cell phone, I might preorder one to
test and eventually loan to friends who want to try out the device
before buying, assuming that the difficulty of installing an OS seems
within my ability.

Only early unfinished images. You will have to ask the
makers of the different software systems.
Ready for use image or images will not be available before
about March. When the consumer pinephone should go on
sale.
