Free add-ons for Abrowser/Icecat?.
This week we had another interesting discussion on the Spanish
forum about search engines, started again by Nuncio Gómez. I think
the topic might be of interest for this forum, too.
These were the add-ons mentioned and their licenses:
4 users use NoScript (GPLv2) and HTTPS-Everywhere (Custom License).
3 users use uBlock Origin (GPLv3).
2 users use Privacy Badger (GPLv3) and Privacy Settings (MPL 2.0).
1 user uses Abduction! (MIT/X11 License), AdBlock Edge (discontinued,
MPL 2.0), Better Privacy (unknown license), Decentraleyes (MPL 2.0),
Dictionary Switcher (Custom Licence), Firebug (BSD License), Firefox
OS Simulator (MPL 2.0), Flagfox (Custom Licence), GNU LibreJS (GPLv3),
Greasemonkey (MIT/X11 License), HTML5 Video Everywhere! (MPL 2.0), I
dont care about cookies (BSD License, had to be), No Resource URI Leak
(GPLv3), Quick Locale Switcher (Custom Licence), Self-destructing
Cookies (GPLv2), Video Download helper (Custom Licence) and WOT (GPLv3).

Video DownloadHelper is non-free: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/license/5.6.1
Apart from some of the already listed add-ons, I use for privacy protection:
- Clean Links;
- ShareMeNot (but I think it is useless given that I have Privacy Badger);
- Skip Redirect;
- Smart Referer;
For videos:
- ViewTube and ViewTube+ (two GreaseMonkey scripts);
- UnPlug;
For esthetics:
- GNotifier
- the "Global Black for AMOLED Display" style (on top of the Stylish add-on);
- the GNOME theme for Firefox.
