Freenode page won't show up even when I enable JS

This page shows up as a blank, white emptiness whenever I load it in
Abrowser on Trisquel 8 with all first-party scripts enabled in uMatrix.

LibreJS is running.  It did not complain about any JS or say that it
had stopped any.

lets me read the text, but it's very inconvenient.

I can read the page fine in Abrowser even with all JS blocked via NoScript, and in Icecat with all JS blocked via LibreJS. (LibreJS block one script]) The page is even readable in Tor Browser with the highest security settings. I can also view the page with a clean Abrowser profile using the default settings except that JS is disabled, so I don't think Abrowser is the problem. More likely it has something to do with one of your addons.

You might try
- opening a new tab and disabling JS in Abrowser's privacy settings so that the non-free JS is not loaded in the following steps
- going to the addons menu and disabling one of your security addons
- reloading the page
- if you still can't read the page, reenable the security addon and disable a different one
- repeat until you can read the page

I had both uMatrix and LibreJS running.  Pages started loading again
once I turned off LibreJS.

Bugs like these are why I use NoScript instead. The supposed advantage of LibreJS is automatic detection of free licenses. However, there are so many false negatives that one still has to inspect code manually for most sites. It is convenient that LibreJS provides links directly to each script, but that's not worth slowing the browser down and breaking some pages that don't even require JS.
