Gitorious acquired
Gitlab acquires Gitorious https://about.gitlab.com/2015/03/03/gitlab-acquires-gitorious/
What is your opinion on the purchase?
I'm glad that I started my Qrgui project on nongnu.org instead of Gitorious, so I don't have to deal with moving my project.
Not a big "fan" of the purchase. Gitorious was not the "ultra shiny" git service, however it did it's job. I liked it because of the clear AGPL approach and the company was/is Norwegian :). Now I guess it is only two major git services left - G*Hub and G*Lab. I would like to see "communitites" offering git services, like local hackerspaces, friends or other communites -funded by the users itself. Have not explored nongnu.org (savannah?) - git based? Seems to be real "old-school".
You can try https://notabug.org/, powered by a modified version of http://gogs.io/. And it's run by a community called Peers: http://peers.community/.
