GNOME vs everything
I use XFCE and eventually remove Gnome 3 packages if they get in the way.
What does everyone else think of Trisquel using GNOME 3
How do you tweak your Trisquel experience?
I tried GNOME 3.2 Shell and it was okay. But when I reinstalled Trisquel again last year I kept using Fallback mode. I mostly run the default configuration of Trisquel.
Xfce is alright, but I don't like the calendar behaviour in the panel. I like a calendar that pops up in that corner, not as a window (like Orage does). If it weren't for that, Xfce would just about be perfect.
LXDE is okay, but has a lot of configuration options and lacks "polish". It also doesn't have a compositing WM by default. Dragging around windows can be slow. But despite those minor criticisms, I would consider LXDE if something changed in GNOME that I didn't like.
KDE 4 panels are super confusing. When you unlock and click the cashew, everything is all of the sudden dragging itself around whenever you click. KDE doesn't seem to focus on usability as much as GNOME or Xfce. It also seems to start up slower than the others. A lot of programs don't integrate with KDE well.
Just my opinion. :-)
