How do you use QuiteRSS with Tor?

Recently, I installed QuiteRSS (https://quiterss.org). It's an excellent RSS feed reader that I strongly recommend to anyone who hasn't tried it.

However, I am unable to configure QuiteRSS to pull feeds through Tor (besides using the torify command). In Tools --> Options --> Network Connections, QuiteRSS allows you to define a proxy to use, so I tried using the Tor process as a SOCKS proxy (QuiteRSS supports SOCKS proxies).

Here's what I put:

Proxy Server: 127.0.0.1
Port: 9050

However, it also requires a username and password, without which QuiteRSS won't connect to the servers.

When I use "torify quiterss", it works perfectly. But I would prefer to directly define the proxy in the program, rather than using a workaround like torify. Does anyone know what username and password QuiteRSS is asking for, and how to pull RSS feeds through Tor with it?

Read Tor manual: https://www.torproject.org/docs/tor-manual.html.en
You can set username and password.
