Hi, I've just installed Trisquel and started to make some customizations. I've searched on Internet how to edit the Trisquel panel (e.g. the opacity, the default icons and so on) but I found nothing.
Is there a way to do this? (preferably with a GUI)

thanks

Hey janlete,
in case you're using compiz, just install compizconfig-settings-manager.
Go to the trisquel menu -> system settings
-> compiz config settingsmanager.

Here you can change quite a lot. For example, go to the "opacity, brightness and saturation" plugin.
Make a new entry in the opacity tab and paste
"(class=Gnome-panel) & !(type=Menu | PopupMenu | Dialog | DropdownMenu)". This allows you to change the opacity of the panel;
works the same way with saturation and brightness.

If you're using metacity, you can switch to compiz by system settings -> window manager effects

but this requires 3d acceleration as far as I know.

thanks, but I'm still having trouble. I can't find easy configurations regarding the bottom bar itself.

In fact, I would like to have just a dock (I found Docky very good) and move the default bar aside. When I install any dock the default bottom bar still appears on the background and I can't find this configuration.

I'm trying to make enviroment to look like Elementary OS and it's minimalistic appearance.
