Hello,
I searched the nouveau site, but I couldn't find info about the my card being supported fully (with 3d acc.) with a newer kernel / newer version of nouveau.
My card is: NVIDIA Corporation G72M [GeForce Go 7400]
Works in Trisquel 6 with nouveau, but 3d acceleration is not supported.

First of all, I would try to install the package named "libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental". It is readily available in the repository and can be installed through the Synaptic package manager.

If it is not enough, I would try a newer kernel. To get the latest stable version of Linux-libre, you can follow what is written on this Web page.

Thank you, but the first advice didn't change anything.
But I'm not quite sure anymore if there's something to change or not.
I thought 3d acceleration doesn't work because the fps rate shown while running glxgears was very low (500 fps) where other people had 2000 fps and more;
but eventually, 3d acceleration is supported, only my graphic chip is very weak. I don't know.
Never used windows on it, so I can't compare.

I will carefully read the link you gave me, and, if I feel selfconfident enough, try the kernel upgrade.

The kernel upgrade through jxself's repository is extremely easy. It is a matter 3-4 commands.

Yes but i'm afraid of loosing some functionality I need / sitting in front of a black screen.
So change my "feeling selfconfident enough" into "having time to fix the system in case things went wrong" if you like.

You can have both (installed, not running) your current kernel and the newer one. If the newer one is problematic choose the older one from the bootloader and remove the newer kernel.
