Chromium is not provided by Trisquel because there are uncertainties about the licenses of some of its source code. In other words we're not sure if it's fully free or not.

See the Chromium bug report here https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=28291 and an ongoing examination of Chromium source code here http://piratepad.net/PedzEtqdmt

Edit: You can try out Epiphany if you want a similar browser which uses the same WebKit rendering engine as Chromium.

what about the Iron package? I already knew about the shadiness surrounding Chromium, but I do really like the browser.

it is frustrating Google has a proprietary version of its browser, and would you would expect to be open/libre, but is clouded in mystery.
