Elaborating on what root_vegetable has said, this may be a very desirable purchase if one has the money, even if one has to bring one's own graphics and wireless cards. The latest Intel/AMD chips have a serious freedom/privacy problem, so making something more freedom-respecting viable (perhaps ARM for lower-end applications and POWER8 for higher-end) would be very helpful to the community.

For the problems with current Intel and AMD offerings, see libreboot's FAQ: https://libreboot.org/faq/#intel and the following discussion: http://mail.fsfeurope.org/pipermail/discussion/2016-April/010912.html -- both of which bring up issues of which I was completely unaware a week ago (and I expect many others in the Free Software community are in the same situation), and which are very concerning...

Wow, this looks nice. I would totally back this, if I had the money. ;-)
