I never figured out why there is no icon for the tor browser and no option to have tor browser added to your launcher menu.

Did I miss something or is there an easy trick?

The Tor Browser Bundle I downloaded came with a .desktop file in the to-level directory. IIRC, I just copied it to ~/.local/share/applications.

On closer look, you can do that automatically by just passing the --register-app command-line option to TBB. I don't remember whether or not I did this.

Menulibre (it's in your repo) is awesome for both the things you talk about. You can achieve the same manually, menulibre just makes it straightforward with a nice and intuitive graphical user interface.

If that question is for me then the answer is "yes".

For the record, I used this method:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:micahflee/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install torbrowser-launcher
