I would like to use abrowser for my desktop which runs parabola gnu/linux, but the program is not in the repository.
So, I have downloaded it directly from the trisquel packages page, but it is in .deb form.
Is there anywhere I can find a .tar.gz of it?
Parabola does not use aptitude but pacman.
Thanks for you help.

I believe this is the latest http://archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/pool/main/f/firefox/firefox_44.0.2+build1-0ubuntu0.14.04.1+7.0trisquel44.tar.gz

I haven't done that myself, so you might want to wait for other replies which might agree or disagree with me. :)

I have no idea why you'd want Abrowser with Parabola.
You should install Iceweasel-- it's the same as Abrowser, but with different branding, is more up-to-date, and you won't have to compile it. :p

You have a valid point, as I do have iceweasel.
My main browser, though, is icecat which I absolutely prefer, but I will use iceweasel for some sites that don't work well with icecat.
The thing is, there is a site I use to brush up on my programming skills: wibit.net. For example, here is a video: https://www.wibit.net/course/C/watch#lesson1.1
The site doesn't work well with icecat probably because of all it's nonfree js. Iceweasel does not work with it either, unfortunately.
I did find that Abrowser does, though.
I have been troubleshooting on how to find a way to get icecat or iceweasel to play the videos, but no luck.
Pretty sure they are not running on flash, but html5. According to their videos, projekktor is used: http://www.projekktor.com/

Yes! Out of curiosity,I checked Arch's repository and the binary package exists.
Though, of course I will not add arch's repository just for that and compromise my freedom.
Hmmm....

dcapeletti, could you send me the url?
I was on the AUR page, but don't see any url for .tar file.
Thanks

You could always download binary packages from the Arch repo website.
Every package listing has a "Download from Mirror" button on the site.
Just install the package with "pacman -U" and you're done.

dcapeletti, sorry about that. I think you just mispelled 'well' as 'will'.
I was tired when reading reply.
I was thinking about doing it that way...
Thanks dcapeletti and JadedCtrl for your support.
