Installing Jitsi

As far as I know, Jitsi is free software. Why isn’t it available in the
repositories? What’s the preferred way to install it in Trisquel?

Jitsi will be available starting Trisquel 7.0. You can find all the necessary information here.

The reason it's not in Trisquel 6 is simply because it was not available in the upstream. (ubuntu, debian)
