Anyone know if it's possible to turn it off?

I think you can do so by manually editing the config file. Not sure where that config file is, though.

I have tried that but the newer version of epiphany does not support those extensions.

I found this page but there is no mention of disabling javascript https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Web/Development/Security

It's a shame because it's really fast and light but without the option to disable javascript I won't be using it :(

This is the current method to disable completely:

gsettings set org.gnome.Epiphany.web enable-javascript false
