Laptop screen goes black

I have a laptop that came with Windows Vista and now I'm using the Trisquel 7.0 LTS Belenos (from the 1.5GB Live DVD iso image) that I've installed. But there is this problem that is happening quite often: the screen goes black without any warning and I have to forcefully turn off the laptop to be able to use the laptop again. I have no idea if this is due to any kind of bug or misconfiguration of the OS or because of Google Chrome which is my favorite web browser. Could you help, please?

Thank you for your time!

Try a Google search on:

"dmesg after abrupt shutdown trisquel" without the quotes.

please stop putting these two words together (gooshit and search).
And tell all you friends "please stop using gooshit".

Now you may ask "really.. and why is that?"
And I would answer "everything you type on gooshit gets collected and stored indefintely and sold to third parties, governments included, along with your ip address and other stuff which identifies you uniquely on the net"
Simply put - gooshit is shit. Shit is not recommendable. Hence: Stop recommending gooshit!

p.s - I counted 7 "shit" in this post of mine about gooshit. I like the number 10 so just one more time - google is shit!
ciao!

First, thank you for the time you took to reply to me.

I couldn't find anything relevant with that search, but I did find out that the problem seems to occur only when Youtube is loaded.

Google Chrome is proprietary software, so I'd recommend using Abrowser or GNU Icecat instead
