larger space in /
Hello I want to install trisquel 6 with larger space in / to avoid running out of space so can any one tell me how to do ?
You'll want to choose the advanced setup option and set up the partitions manually. At a minimum, you ought to have:
An ext4 partition mounted at "/" (I would normally suggest 16GB, but if you really want it to be big, you can go with 24 or 32 GB; even if you go really crazy, this should be plenty).
A Swap partition (opinion varies, but either the amount of RAM your computer has or twice that amount is a good choice).
An ext4 partition mounted at "/home" (fill up all remaining space with this; most things that take up a lot of space, such as downloads and videos, will end up here).
The /home partition is XFS by default in Trisquel, but using ext4 instead makes it possible to size it down, so I think ext4 is a better choice. Actually, by doing this, you can make "/" only 16 GB and make it bigger (using gparted on the Trisquel live CD) if you need more space later on.
Choose manual setup on the installer page where you are given the
options like 'install Trisquel along-side Windows' and 'replace Windows
with Trisquel'. I think the option you want says 'something
else--manual setup'. Select your drive, and partition as you prefer.
