Lost Internet Connection upon upgrading to Trisquel 7

I upgraded to Trisquel 7 on Monday. When I rebooted into version 7 for the first time I lost my Internet connection.
I contacted Verizon (in the eastern USA), and they tested my hardware and connection, but could not fix the problem. I suspect that I lost a software setting in Trisquel when upgrading to version 7. I have DSL service, via a direct wire connection to my modem and my land phone line.
Trisquel has a "Network Connections" icon on the bottom right. Using it, I tried to set up a DSL connection. It asked for a "Username", a "Service", and a "Password". I do not know what it is asking for. I would appreciate some help.
Thank you.

Were you using the default kernel in 6? Any other things outside of Trisquel repositories?

Are you using wired or wireless? What does

lspci

say?

Does a Trisquel 6 live media work out of the box? That is, if you have one available.

Thanks.
I have never added anything from any repository. I am using wired (DSL). I still have my "6" live media (DVD). And, yes, when I used it live, it did connect to the Internet. I will try the "lspci" command when I get home from work in 3.5 hours. (The only kernel I use is the one that Trisquel has and sends updates for.)
Also, I think I will experiment with DHCP versus PPPoE settings, etc.

I am able to connect to the Internet with the v.6 and the v.7 live DVDs.
(With my PC connected to my wired connection), I did a: sudo lspci -v, and an: lspci.
Assuming that I can interpet the lists correctly, there are 15 items listed, and the last item is an Ethernet controller. Also listed are a Communication controller, various bridges, a bus, VGA, USB, Audio, and IDE controllers. What should I be looking for? (My knowledge of hardware and command-line stuff is limited. I use Trisquel the way most people use "windoze".)

If you're using wired then the Ethernet controller is it. Don't worry you'll learn if you want to. :)

Thanks. I do want to learn.
What's next? Do I edit a file on my computer so that it looks like it does on the live DVD?

I guess you just right click the network applet > edit > wired > connection 1 > edit.

What brand/model is the card?

Success! Inside the applet, all I did was create an Ethernet connection, and then I selected a device MAC address from a drop down list.
I appreciate the help. Thanks, again.
