Media keys on VLC does not work!

The screenshot shows what happens and can it be fixed
Media keys works with exaile 'cause of a plugin

VLC has a lot of keys already defined and you must manually remove the previous entry for a key to work, real handy...

Failing that, take a look at xbindkeys and xdotool packages. You can use the xev command to find out keysums.
