New aramo beta iso amd64

Just passing around to mention that there is a new updated testing ISO for aramo at,

Notes;
- Please note that the netinstaller for aramo is under development so the one on the iso is just a place holder (the etiona one), please avoid it's use, as it's not for aramo.
- If you have issues trying to update the repository, please try moving the key repository:
sudo mv /etc/apt/trusted.gpg /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/

How is the ARM version going ?
aramo will support both armhf and arm64, but there is no "oficial" installer(-guide) or recommended SBC model, since the aramo repository is already available to the public the community is encouraged to test and give it a try, beware it will require a good level of expertise on the subject.
bill-auger did a great job at the freedom-maker package and thanks to that we have it already on both nabia and aramo, many thanks to him!
On the other hand the arm setup is on the ToDo list (for the freedom-maker package), you might like to get your hands dirty and join the development mailing list to get deeper on the arm discussion.

I understood the words "beware" and "already" in your post, but little else. Does that indicate that I may not have the required level of expertise to try out the ARM versions?
Sorry, English is not my first language, I tried to state that installing trisquel on ARM might not be an easy ride for everyone.

Once installed, trying should be as easy as any other arch, the installation part might be the hard one.
Let's use the development mailing list to get into details for it.

Is having a GUI installer for the ARM version that is similar to the x86 version a long term goal ?
We Trisquel 9 die-hards are beginning to believe that our cunning plan to skip Trisquel 10 Nabia and jump straight up to Trisquel 11 Aramo is going to be workable. Maybe a fresh install would be the recommended path when time comes, though.
EDIT: wifi was out of business in the live session, has been working well since Trisquel 7 on the same laptop with ath9k. Was using ethernet so did not notice at first.
EXTENDED EDIT: installing connman-gtk did some magic and wifi became manageable in the live session.
NB: installing wpasupplicant does the same magic and brings wifi back to life from "device not ready" Hell in the live session.
Interesting case. Could it be netplan taking over the interface?
Please check the content of /etc/netplan/01-netcfg.yaml and maybe your wifi is listed there with renderer: networkd?
I myself am using aramo, and I don't see this behavior, maybe the issue is netplan and not the driver per se.

Thanks. I checked, and /etc/netplan/ appears to be empty.
Note that I am getting repeated warnings and errors about supplicant interface failing if I do:
service NetworkManager status
before installing the wpasupplicant package.

I have installed a previous beta version. Would there be any benefit to reinstalling?
I have been using Trisquel-10 on a number of machines, including one used as a server. I downloaded the Trisquel-11.0 amd64 beta iso available on 11 October 2022, put it on a usb memory stick using the command "dd if=trisquel_11.0_amd64.iso of=/dev/sda oflag=sync bs=2048 status=progress". With those options it took nearly 50 minutes to write the iso to my usb. I then did a reboot followed by ESC to bring up a boot option menu and chose to boot from the first SanDisk option. I tried the live OS and then double-clicked on the install-trisquel icon. I selected other as the install option and had a /boot/efi partition from a trisquel-10.0.1 installation which I supplemented with a 30GB / and 50GB /var partition and proceeded with the installation using my previous /home partition. The installation and subsequent reboot were flawless, which was pretty impressive since my computer is an Asus FX706LI with an Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti graphics card which complements an Intel processing chip. I am not a real power user, but all the software I needed like emacs, gtk+, and lxqt installed and worked perfectly, as did audacious and vlc.
Should we report further experimentation with the current Aramo iso on this thread, or wait for the next iteration?
I just wanted to mention that I too had to have an internet connection up in order to install on EFI. Otherwise the proper package cannot be installed and the whole process fails, as previously reported.
Else, Aramo is now my daily driver. Just smooth and great, and all the usual Trisquel paradise. Many thanks and kudos to the whole team for the sustained hard work and the dedication.
It might be related to the tool used to built the iso image, and missing pieces.
IIRC, we ship the binaries and create a small local repository inside the image so these packages are pulled by the installer (without internet connection), it might be that it's using a placeholder for that small repo (just as it uses the etiona netinstaller) or maybe something is wrong there.
I'll take a look. Since we are already dealing with some efi subjects.

Update: Indeed, the current beta image doesn't have the repo I mention above in place.
