Noob flashing libreboot
Hi everyone.
So I decided I'm going to buy a Macbook2,1 and I intend to flash libreboot in it, but I have found the instructions given here (http://www.libreboot.org/docs/install/index.html#flashrom_macbook21) a bit unclear.
Is there some sort of walkthrough for noobs? Or detailed documentation for beginners to get this working without bricking it? Any information on this would be excellent.
Thanks!
i suggest asking the pepole at the #libreboot irc channel
and they will help you step by step
as said before i very much advise getting advice from the libreboot pepole at #libreboot before you do this so you dont brick your machine
but basicly
while running trisquel gnu/linux on your macbook2,1
download the libreboot binarys from here:
http://mirrors.mit.edu/libreboot/20150208/libreboot_bin.tar.xz
extract them
then go into the extracted directory
and run
sudo ./flash i945apple_firstflash ./bin/macbook21/the_rom_you_want.rom
and wait for it to be installed
you will know if it was sucsessfull if this message was displayed:
Verifying flash... VERIFIED.
then shut down
Do I need to have the program flashrom installed?
the flashrom program is included in the libreboot binarys
if you need a video tutorial i can make one also
I would love that! Thanks for the replies.
a quick video i made:

Fantastic! It's easier than I anticipated. Do you mind uploading it to https://goblinrefuge.com/mediagoblin/ in a free (CC0, CC-BY or CC-BY-SA) license so that I can link to it in the "MacTrisquel" documentation page? https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/macbook
Pizzaiolo - great thing! Do it! :)
