So I couldn't find many active heat sinks for sale. I purchased the passive heat sinks for my KGPE-D16 build. I would like to know if it will suffice without the fan. I suspect not; however, finding separate fans is frustrating and finding the pieces to hold down the fan and heat sink seems hard too. The fans that I found that come with the heat sink are copper and there are few out there. Since this is my first time building a computer, I am reluctant to spend a lot of money.

I noticed the KGPE-D16 Trisquel wiki page.

Wasn't sure how this fit in the other forums, so I am posting in the lounge.

I built the computer partially without hard drive and 1 CPU and the sensors state the minimum temperature is like 52 degrees Celsius. The heat sink is very hot.

I can't recall the exact max temperature the CPU is not to exceed according to the proprietary BIOS. I thought it was above 173 Degrees Fahrenheit. It gave me concern.

Or should I go for a fan.

I think the next step is update it with the libre bios?
