Asus EeePC 701 2GB/4GB. Trisquel Mini.
Nice shape, you don't see that a lot. Specs?
I think Heather has one. It's in the old thread.

The specs are Celeron 900 clocked at 630, RAM 2 GB, SSD 4 GB, display 7" 800 x 480. Originally it came with Xandros. Now there's Trisquel Mini inside. Weight less than a kg. Free space after installation is 1.5 GB. The speakers are good. It's a great machine for music playback.

I also have an ASRock Ion 330 mini computer. Right now with FreeBSD. Well, it used to be "mini" eight years ago. Nowadays an Intel NUC fits inside four times. It's the size of an old 5,25 inch floppy disk drive.
The NUC, a new acquisition, needs some attention. I've tried Mint Mate with it, and it works nicely out of the box (Debian Jessie or Ubuntu won't boot into graphical desktop). Only when booting it keeps waiting at the NUC logo for almost a minute before proceeding. UEFI and IME Intel Management Engine nasties. I hope to be able to use Parabola or Trisquel 8 on the tiny box.
On the street? How did that happen?
Some people either can't be bothered to bring them to the "décheterie"(recycling center) or have no transport to do so, and just leave them on the street instead ..but this was mostly when XP was no longer supported, and lots of people just simply threw their PCs away.
I want buy a ThinkCentre too, the are ussualy cheap in the second hand market. They run well Trisquel?
Alij, yes mine works with Trisquel 7 & 8, nevertheless i would recommend Lenovo T400 for aprox the same price, (more RAM, better CPU performances, SATA HD)..
Your story is all very interesting to read about.
I had a similar keyboard issue with my EeePC 1001pxd. The solution was to detach the built-in keyboard (unplug the cable) and insert a USB keyboard. Only then would it take the external keyboard.
I'm so glad it worked! Happy typing on the tiny box.
Wow what a collection Heather, nice read too ;-)
