Posting from a text-based browser.
Hi guys, long time no read.
I'm back trying to live fully in tty.
I found out this forum supports logging from a text-based browser, so I'm trying to post from it.
Why would I ever want to do that?
Because I need a distraction-less environment that forces me to do one thing at a time. I'm tired of falling down rabbit holes.
I resolved not to use web search for anything related to programming. If I can't find my way reading documentation it means the project is managed badly and not worth spending time on.
I used to criticize AI with the stochastic parrot thing (not fully true anyway), but what do we call people who copy-paste code? Are they human parrots? I don't want to be a human parrot anymore.
So here is my little experiment.

Which text-based browser did you use? I am posting this message with lynx. It works but browsing Trisquel forum with it is not terribly convenient because the most important text is drown in headers and footers and when I write this message, I only see something like hte last 80 characters are wrote and nothing else.
Maybe the way to post on text browser is to write what you want to say in the text editor first and copy it over to the textbox in the page your are posting to?
In lynx, to edit a text box with editor you can edit the option by pressing 'O', edit the 'Editor' line with your editor command name, write to disk changes if you want, accept the changes, and open the text editor within a textbox by pressing Ctrl+X+e. Save the edit, exit editor, choose to wrap long lines, and post.
Right now I'm using links, but usually I switch between eww (emacs), w3m, lynx (I like the -dump functionality) on a daily basis.
I wish other websites would be accessible like this one. I can't stand walled gardens and API's anymore.

You'll never program again if you refuse to use web search. All documentation is lacking. It sounds like a good productivity decision though.
I'm not sure about that. It depends on the tools you're using. Beside that I've got tons of pdfs and books, so that wouldn't be a problem.
I won't do Rust, I find the syntax ugly so I don't care about that. I'm mainly into C, Python, Go, Free Pascal, Gambas and I'm starting to dive into Ring (ships with 2400 pages of documentation with images). Free Pascal and Gambas are well documented too. But Ring blew my mind just for the documentation.
