I've been using openshift.com to host my website. It's by Red Hat and runs on free software. For a simple website choose the "diy" cartridge and you must use SSH keys and git on your local machine to manage and upload your web pages, documents, and media into the app root. The free account gets you 1GB of storage and RAM. For example, mine is here - http://www.noxbanners.net/

I've seen such detached re: posts before. Besides operator error it could be a bug in the software, who knows.
