Whenever I run rm -r from the command line it is always verbose. The directories I am trying to delete have thousands of subdirectories and files. I figure this is because of an alias somewhere, if I had my guess it would be somewhere is /usr. But I can not find it to comment it out. Anybody know how I can disable the verbose in rm -r? I understand why it is there, but in this case it is annoying to say the least.
