Running Temple OS
Is that what AmigaOS looked like? Now I'm glad to have missed that era- the colors and moving parts have a psychedelic effect that makes me sick :/.
I will have to try dosbox, however- playing with DOS is unfortunately not a joy I've yet had.
Well some games looked like the one that Andyprough showed a picture of.
As for dosbox, playing doom mods, certain games you have played in your childhood, etc... can be amusing for some.
Perhaps I will have to look into AmigaOS in that case- the games did seem interesting, even if I unfortunately didn't get around to trying them.
DOSBox sounds good too, even if I never personally got the chance to play any DOS games. Perhaps it's never too late to start!
If you like a good fun mindless horror game, that isn't mega scary, I recommend doom or doom2 or if you want something libre, freedoom... ;)
> the colors and moving parts have a psychedelic effect that makes me sick
Smoking mushrooms can be treacherous. The sickness will ease but the psychedelic effects might last longer. You'll have to limit yourself to two or three per day, I guess.
Ah, that would explain it. Perhaps once I've fully converted to communism it will work better, and then I can spend more time playing with indie OSes.
As chairman nadeb once taught me, there is no such thing as "conversion to communism": we are all born communists, but some of us are too busy exploiting their kin to notice it.
I agree that is true for a small percentage of these communist haters at least, however I think a lot of them are manipulated into hating it except the leaders of this insane idea who know this is a toxic way to do things...
Because the leaders want to be treated like they are perfect or some insane batshit foolishness akin to that...
:smh
Edit: I said most percentage, but that makes no sense given what I wrote around it.
;)
This is what I think though.
Right now, when my time is scarce, TempleOS and the world of obscure operating systems have been taking over my thoughts- thanks Andy! Perhaps I will have to do my own post soon :).
However, one question has been particularly striking: how hard would it be to add Gemini support to TempleOS, and therefore (burn me at the stake now) complete God's Temple? Starting with Shrine, it seems TLS and Unicode would be the only major hurdles left; I have no idea how hard they would be. At the very least it would be an interesting technical project.
In fact, with some "cheating" (setting up a suitable server gateway), it would make it possible to post here from within TempleOS!
That all depends on, is it possible to make it reasonably secure/unless it is already, or if it isn't yet, do you want the server to last a long time.
I have no answers, to this.
Never used it once.
EDIT noticed I already posted about DOS hence why I deleted that part from here.
