Dear all,

I have tried installing trisquel mini and plain trisquel on an acer Aspire 1360[1,2] laptop. Sorry I was not able to give a list of hardware of the is laptop.

The problem can be seen on the image that I have hopefully attached.

I get the ISOlinux live CD loader to work fine and I can see the menu of "try trisquel" "mem test" "load from first hard drive" just fine. The problem is when i do choose load trisquel and the the screen goes wierd.

I have been able to access the comand line using the ctl+alt+F2 (or was it alt F2?) but anyway I normally would use xrandr but that does not work because in the comandline mode X is not loaded.

I tried a couple of other comands on the net but they do not fit the problem at hand.

Oh! I also tried other non free distribuitons such as ubuntu and lubuntu. Same problem. The only one that seemed to work was crunchbang linux. But of course I want trisquel.

I want to say update the kernel and that will probably fix your problem:

thanks chris. But it requires a reboot at the end. since i am running a livecd does this mean that i should install trisquel on the command line and then follow the wiki? (I would have to use nano and not gedit).
