Should Discover package be bundled with Triskel instead of Package Manager?

Out of the box, Triskel does not come with an update manager, so updates will typically have to be checked and performed at command line. Installing Discover automates updates and is a package manager.

This depends on whether Discover recommends non-free software. Gnome Software has similar freedom issue.

Ahh. Good point! Surely its using the same source repos? I mainly use it for an update manager as I don't know of any other automated update manager for KDE

I don't see performing update from Terminal so difficult. You basically only need to (periodically) execute one line of command:

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

No trouble doing the update personally. But I feel its just something other distros (both Libre and otherwise) include.

Indeed. Trisquel, for one, comes with a nice GUI update manager.

yeah but Triskel (KDE version) doesn't from what I can see.

I believe you. I too find it a bit surprising that Triskel does not have one while Trisquel does.

That said, going for Triskel means going for KDE, so I guess it all boils down to a KDE vs. MATE choice and the personal preferences and habits associated with it.
