Copyright infringement is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, AFAIK. The worst that has happened to people is actually pretty bad (being sued for outrageous sums of money, to make an example out of them and scare everyone else), so if you're going to use torrents to download unauthorized copies of works, you should probably use a VPN.
I tried earthbound a while ago and at some point i just didn't know where to go or what to do.
And somehow this battle system is a bit boring imo...

true that - it can be annoying but after a while you start fighting with some tough enemies and then you really have to use your brains to defeat them and you cannot just rely on auto-mode, so it gets less boring as you progress. The art, the music, the characters, the humor, and the story (so far) is incredible. I really like this one!

p.s - I've read you like megamen - I tried both the first and the second. I find it very good until I bump into the first ! boss - I tried to defeat him but it is soo difficult that it is frustrating, so I quit (both of the megamen games on snes).
Don't give up yet ;) the order matters a lot, especially for megaman 2.
With the right weapon, most bosses just take a few hits and are very easy.
Ok I think i will give it another try. I walked through Onett and a few guys beat the shit out of me... that's when i quit.
