Running the GUI Software Updater produces an error messages that says:
"Requires installation of untrusted packages
This requires installing packages from unauthenticated sources."

When I run:
"sudo apt-get upgrade" (without the "" quotes)

For a while, it sits on this message:
"0% [Connecting to in.archive.trisquel.info (117.232.108.165)]"

Then eventually it spits out this:

"Err http://in.archive.trisquel.info belenos InRelease

Err http://in.archive.trisquel.info belenos-security InRelease

Err http://in.archive.trisquel.info belenos-updates InRelease

Any suggestions?

Where have you read it has to do with "untrusted packages"? The error message is "Unable to connect to in.archive.trisquel.info".

That server, you were downloading your packages from, is apparently down (hopefully not permanently, but I do not know): select another server. You can do so graphically from "Software & Updates" in the "System Settings". You can even "Select Best Server" (based on 'ping', I suppose), a button you can click after choosing "Other..." in the drop-down menu at the right of "Download from:".

See the first paragraph of the OP where I reported the error from the GUI Software Updater, which was:

>> "Requires installation of untrusted packages
This requires installing packages from unauthenticated sources." <<

Although I didn't mention this in the OP, the CLI gave a similar message when I ran:
sudo apt-get upgrade

Thanks for the suggestion though. I tried changing using Software Source in the system Settings to change the update source. This seems to have fixed the problem.

If anyone knows who the maintainer is for the mirror normally hosted at 117.232.108.165, it might be useful to contact them and get them to check their mirror and get it working again.
