Software Updater: Printers?

I have not set up a printer yet for this laptop which I use with Trisquel 9. One time I plugged a printer in to see if it would work just like that, but it said 'printer error'. Now, though, for the first time as far as I can tell, Software Updater is offering one for Printers. Should I go ahead with that? Thanks to anyone who can reply to this!
