Sound problems with Trisquel 7
Good afternoon mesdames et messieurs,
I currently experience some sound problems with Trisquel-Mini 7. I have a sound system which works perfectly fine. I know that because everything works like a charm when I connect this system to my laptop which is running Trisquel-Mini 6.
Furthermore, everything is also working fine when I plug my USB headset in the machine with Trisquel-Mini 7. However, once I plug the sound system into my the PC, there is no sound.
In the volume control there are two options I can choose from. Either "Built-In Audio Digital Stereo (HDMI)" or "RS690 HDMI Audio [Radeon Xpress 1200 series] Digital Stereo (HDMI)". Unfortunately, none of those options gives me the desired sound output.
Any hints or advices are highly appreciated.
What does it call it in Trisquel 6 where it works? What kernel versions are you using on 6 and 7?
Hello lembas,
Thank you very much for your fast reply.
On Trisquel 6 I'm using Linux 3.15.8 and on Trisquel 7 I'm using 3.13.0.
Btw: I put the cable in the green jack on my sound card. I also tried the blue one but that doesn't help either.
A few months ago, while I was using Ubuntu, I found that no sound came out of my speakers. I re-installed Pulse Audio and everything worked fine.
Hey Mzee, the thing to try then is a newer kernel on 7. The blue jack is probably for audio input.
Thank you very much onetechbuddy and lembas but unfortunately neither reinstalling pulseaudio nor upgrading to Linux 3.15.8 (via the linux-libre package provided by jxself) helps. :-(
Still, all I can hear is just some hissing coming out of my speakers. Any further suggestions?
Have you tried the version 3.17 ? It solved my wifi card drivers problems. Have you checked your cpu architecture ?
Have you tried in terminal - alsamixer - and see if everythin is set properly?
