synaptic troubles
Hi all
trisquel has been working great on a ssd, but when installed to a 7200rpm rotary sata3 drive (other hardware the same) (with the same trisquel 5.5 64bit iso image(md5sum checked))
synaptic package manager just flashes when run from the icon, when it is run from the command line it flashes and returns the error:
#terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::out_of_range'
# what(): vector::_M_range_check
is there a config file for synaptic to try and remedy this? (have tried to reinstall via the software manager but will not let me uninstall synaptic)
anybody have any ideas?
There was a weird bug when Trisquel 5.5 was released and, as far as I remember, this was provoking this exact error when Synaptic was executed. The fix was to disable (and then re-enable?) the visual alerts in the accessibility menu.
I'm having the same problem. The Visual Alerts option seems to have no effect.
Try opening a terminal and inputting
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface toolkit-accessibility false
Still doesn't seem to help:
$ gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface toolkit-accessibility false
GLib-GIO-Message: Using the 'memory' GSettings backend. Your settings will not be saved or shared with other applications.
$ sudo synaptic
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::out_of_range'
what(): vector::_M_range_check
I'm using GNOME 3, BTW.
I have had the problem on a 64-bit Trisquel desktop and my 64-bit laptop and typing that into the terminal did fix the issue, thanks.
Synaptic cannot open properly . it crashes ..how to fix it?
Have you tried the solutions above in this thread?
The solution above I have used it , it works but synaptic causes the same trouble after restarting..
