I've got an issue that I'm just not able to figure out after a few days of searching online.

I currently use Trisquel on my x201 tablet and it works like a charm (with the addition of a ThinkPenguin dongle for wifi), except Trisquel 7 doesn't want to recognize my touch screen/stylus. I'm an artist, so it would be pretty cool to be able to draw on the laptop directly.

I've searched all of the Ubuntu forums I could find and I've applied just about every "fix" that has been recommended but I still can't get the dumb thing to work. Does anyone here also use this Thinkpad model? Or have any idea what I may need to install/configure to get my tablet features working?

Well somehow I got the stylus to work on the screen (with pressure sensitivity no less!) but I have no clue how to explain what I did..

Now to figure out how to get the extra buttons at the base of the screen to work. It'd be nice to be able to quickly rotate the screen.

Doesxevsee those buttons?

If yes, you could use xrandr to rotate.

Didn't try that, I'll have to see when I get home tonight. Thanks for the suggestion!

Sorry can't help :)

Thanks i did not know of the Lenovo x201 tablet
i suppose you looked into this
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/x-series-tablet/x201tablet/
http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/find-solution/selectproduct?c=1&returnUrl=%2fus%2fen%2ffind-solution%3ftabName%3dSolutions

I enjoy doing some scribbles with Gnome Paint/MyPaint and recently discovered the Wacom tablets
http://www.wacom.com/en-nl
as i'm drawing with the mouse...and that's gives pretty funny weird results.

May we open an Art thread / Gimp & the other paint programs one of these days :)
it would be fun!

That's actually the first place I looked, but as far as I can tell Lenovo only hosts drivers for Windows. Maybe for fun I'll try to break it and fix it again just in case someone else comes along with a similar problem.
