This is a bit off topic but I thought you might be interested. I posted elsewhere, too. I hope you like it.

A recent presentation by a physician systematically and scientifically went through each of the top causes of death in the USA.

Almost every single cause could be treated or even reversed by the same simple solution. The solution is easy, available to anybody who wants it and isn't expensive.

Considering the enormous, positive economic impact that such a solution would have (through reducing sky-rocketing health care expenses), it is amazing that there is not more discussion about this in government and at a personal level. (The video does mention that there are vested interests that would lose out.)

The presentation is logical and fun to watch, though to see it all (it is worth it) takes about an hour. I hope you can set aside a bit of time for it.

It is your own health.

I think that we need a section in the Forum for stuff like this :D

I was just thinking about that. I think we should also split this section into support and general discussion about free software. I'd create a topic about the recently released alpha iso's for the next gNewSense but didn't want to flood the support channel.

I recently saw that there is actually a sub-forum called The Troll Hole

If I had known about it at the time, I think I would have posted it there, though the title of the forum is a bit off-putting for people, I think.

By the way, the conclusions of the physician are not those of some isolated individual. They are completely supported by the biggest study on health and diet ever conducted, The China Study

The study was led by impartial (of course) scientists from Oxford and Yale universities. It is not surprising that the findings of this study are not finding their way into public debate, bearing in mind how many vested interests this study upsets and how powerful those interests are. (Huge amounts of money are at stake.)

In the world we live, the only solution to show some think about real solution coming from real problems is of an educated population (and this is not the case), everything that is impartial and has the goal (because of the result of his study) to hurt directly or indirectly big corporations or governments will always (in out society) be worst then stealing a car o killing someone (in my opinion), and this because of our non educated society (that isn't educated in the most cases because they don't want to but because they can't).

But at last it is nice to see engaged scientific works like this. And as Stephen Fry say on his video for the GNU's anniversary http://www.gnu.org/fry/, every scientific found should be shared, in order to be studied and improved. If it isn't then it isn't a good scientific found.
