Totally Libre Version of Chromium?
Hi. I am interested in running Chromium in Trisquel, but saw that it isn't in the repos. I read this post http://trisquel.info/en/forum/chromium-web-browser-freelibre
I am curious though. Is there a 100% libre version of Chromium something similar to what abrowser is for Firefox? If there isn't a 100% free current package out there of Chromium, could you please tell how to download the Chromium code, rip out the non-free parts, and then create a new libre version of Chromium? Also, is there also a way to have 100% free extensions in Chromium without having to install them from Google? Thank you.

Google said it was a "bug", introduced by "mistake"...
They are right on the first one, the bug.
The Collaborative International Dictionary of English v.0.48
Bug Bug (b[u^]g), n. [OE. bugge, fr. W. bwg, bwgan, hobgoblin,
scarecrow, bugbear. Cf. Bogey, Boggle.]
8 - A hidden electronic listening device, used to hear or
record conversations surreptitiously.

The problem is not only to remove invitations to proprietary software (the main difference between Firefox and Abrowser). See the "Blocked on" list on the left sides of https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=28291 and https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=28287
As an addendum, there is Iridium, whose version 44.1 is free software[1].

Thanks everyone. I installed Iridium Browser from their repositories and love it. It is possibly a more secure browser than Chromium and as far as I know is 100% libre. I would vote for it to be included in the official Trisquel repositories. And as ADFENO points out, the FSF endorses this as free software, so I wouldn't see any problems including it in the official Trisquel repositories.
I have this eror:
Failed to fetch https://downloads.iridiumbrowser.de/ubuntu/dists/belenos/main/binary-amd64/Packages HttpError404
Failed to fetch https://downloads.iridiumbrowser.de/ubuntu/dists/belenos/main/binary-i386/Packages HttpError404
Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
edit: problem solved
1. Go to /etc/apt/sources.list.d
2. Open the Iridium repo's file as the administrator (you'll be asked for your password)
3. If an Iridium file doesn't exist there open /etc/apt/sources.list instead (as the administrator, password will be asked)
4. Replace belenos with trusty in the Iridium repo's line(s).
