Hello,
I love free software and free licences, and I did enjoy trisquel 7, trisquel 8 on the other hand makes me want to switch OS.

Even on my mum pc, all the sort of weird problems, and she doesn't even know the password of the laptop....

Not really complaning, just stating why, I would love to reverse to Trisquel 7, to me was just fine, and I do not care about security, I mean I do care, but not on that laptop, and I doubt Trisquel 8 is hardened at all.

Is it still possible to get it? Officialy, with sha md5 and all the stuff to check it is the original version.

All the best

btw

There's a Trisquel 7 ISO here.[1] However, it will not receive any
security updates, so I would only use it on a machine that you don't use
to connect to the Internet.

If you can be more specific about the problems you have with Trisquel 8
we might be able to help troubleshoot.

What problems?

With a physical access to the computer, there are many ways to get a root terminal, without any password. For instance using 'chroot' from any live GNU/Linux system. Once you have a root terminal on the installed system, 'passwd' allows you to redefine the password of any user.

(I commented GRUB_DISABLE_RECOVERY="true" in /etc/default/grub and ran 'sudo update-grub', to have the option to directly boot in a root terminal from GRUB's menu.)
