I was under the impression that Rubén's speech this past weekend included the public release of Trisquel 7. I therefore expected the website to change the default download to the new version.

Was this a wrong perception on my part?

I think Ruben was sharing a timeline for release of Trisquel 7, but I haven't heard the speech yet.

Yup I don't see it yet.

There's are ISOs here http://devel.trisquel.info/makeiso/iso/

I think Trisquel 7 is, de facto, available, but de jure isn't yet.

Is there a mirror? Perhaps at the FSF?

The download is taking forever. 22 MB downloaded over 19 minutes... 11 hours to go.

I'm downloading "trisquel_7.0-20140708_amd64.iso".

Thanks.

Unfortunately if there is a mirror to that particular directory I don't know where it is.

Thanks anyway. I'll leave it on all night. I'm up to 226 MB of 858MB. Whoo Hoo!

Still faster than dialup. :-|

P.S.: I don't suppose it makes a difference to download the most recent of all of the versions and make torrent files if I'm the only one serving, right?

The repos were the first thing Belenos had - it's been up for months now! (Though of course we can't search for packages yet, as you've correctly shown).

I've been able to install many packages and debootstrap Trisquel 7 several times.

De-facto, Trisquel 7 is ready. I've successfully trisquelized Ubuntu 14.04 to Trusquel Belenos with this script https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/migrate-ubuntu-trisquel-without-reinstalling simply replacing release name. Everything works fine. So if you have Ubuntu or Trisquel 6 installed - just trisquelize/upgrade. Or try pre-released iso's.

Trisquel 7 seems mostly pretty good to me, but I would caution people who are thinking about installing it as a main OS.

GNU Cash doesn't work properly in Trisquel 7 yet, and I had a little trouble with Add/Remove Programs. I recommend checking the Issues page and asking about your planned uses before installing.

I'll take you up on that Heather.

I'll go ahead and grab the latest of each version (32 and 64bit) over the next couple of days. It will certainly take that long judging by the upload speed of the devel server. :-| I have the 64 bit of Trisquel 7 proper circa 7-9-2014. I'll grab the 32 bit tonight for starters.

I think I can get all the torrents out by Friday night or Saturday morning.

Thanks for the help. Maybe we fluxbox users can convince our free software friends in this forum to join in and take some heat off the servers.
