Hello,

I'm with my new Dell Inspiron 14R running just the last version of Trisquel and my computer are freezing every ten or twenty minutes. Sometimes it takes just five minutes between one and other complete freeze.

I'm with all the upgrades o.k and I have no idea about what is going on.

Thanks

Can you SSH into the computer and post the output of dmesg?

When it freezes does it respond to anything? Can you

*light CAPS lock led?
*Change to VT1? (Ctrl+Alt+F1)
*REISUB? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_sysrq

Have you run the memory checker? E.g. off Trisquel live media or from http://www.memtest.org/

Dear Friends,

It appears that the problem was caused by the use of Google Chrome.

The freezing had stopped since I stop to use this browser. I was using it because it runs the flash-plugins easier.

I'll download the "memtest" and see what it shows me.

Thanks ;)

Just so you are aware, the Flash plugin used by Google Chrome is proprietary. Indeed, Google Chrome itself is proprietary software, hence why it's not in Trisquel's software repositories.

And yet another reason to stay away from Flash and Chrome

Spycam vulnerability reappears in Google Chrome's Flash:

ook I understand! I'm new on free software. I've already know that Chrome and Flash is a proprietary software but I don't know alternatives from wich I could use youtube and another websites. Certainly should exist one but maybe something that only a "Linux Expert" can handle with.

If there is something "not-expert" that I can use, I would be happy to try it!

Gnash should already be in your Trisquel system; be sure the browser
plugin is enabled. There's also lightspark, which you can install with
the terminal or Synaptic. There are user scripts like Linterna Magica.

There's a manual entitled "Playing Videos Without Flash", see here:
