Trisquel logs out without any (obvious) reason
Big trouble today : anytime I log in, my dear Trisquel Linux pushes me out and I'm back to the log screen after a minute or so.
Keeping my hands off the keyboard doesn't help at all, meaning: it just keeps happening again and again, even when I'm not doing anything. It also seems to kill all my jobs. Well, it's pretty difficult to check anything actually since it goes on the same tricky way every time.
I've been using Trisquel for a year or so on this machine and it worked just fine. I did shut it down and restart it but it seemed to be hopelessly pointless.
Usage: quite simple. Any time I log in, I would get a terminal emulator, move to my favorite folder, I would launch emacs and go "#include
and I'm logged out. I use a home pc, laptop, windows 7 dual boot, didn't change anything lately. Please help.
You session get locked after inactivity, and throws you to login manager
thats how it works.
You can login and you will see your previous session as it was
If that is it, set that parameter up from "Brightness and lock" in the "System settings".
If the display manager really terminates abruptly, log in a real terminal (that you can get with Ctrl+Alt+F1 or Ctrl+Alt+F2 or ... or Ctrl+Alt+F6), where you can use Emacs by the way, and take a look at the relevant logs (/var/log/Xorg.0.log, /var/log/lightdm/*.log if you use LightDM, /var/log/gdm/*.log if you use GDM, etc.).
This seems the more likely explanation since he says his jobs get killed. Sounds like a display manager crash. One silly thing would be to try another DM.
